Karen’s
Dancers Body Class!

Karen started teaching exercise in 1979 at Georgene's Health Club in So. San Francisco just for fun and to introduce something different to the club.  It quickly became a "hit" among the woman at the club.  In 1980 she was one of the backup exercise gals for Joanie Greggins on channel 2 in San Francisco.   She continued to teach at Georgene's Health Club for the next 3 years and in 1982 she opened up my own exercise studio in Millbrae, CA,  "Karen's Body Shop" Exercise to Music!  It was for women only.  A place where they could feel comfortable, secure, and confident without intimidation that they could get healthy and lose weight.   It was better than she had hoped for. Karen also taught at "What a Racquet" in Daly City who contracted her to come in twice a week to do an aerobic exercise class for men and women. She finally closed her studio to raise her two children in 1990 and would sub at different health clubs for the next 10 years.  Now, she is excited to be back teaching exercise and healthy living to women of all ages, shapes, and sizes.  "I hope my class also teaches a life style for women so they can learn to love exercise, feel good about themselves and their bodies all while getting healthy".  Today Karen is a mother, and grandmother of 3.

This 1 hour class offered to women is intended to strengthen and lengthen both core & structural muscles. This comprehensive workout draws upon exercising to dance music and maximizing gains in functional strength, flexibility, balance/agility, and cardiovascular endurance.

Dates:
Tuesdays - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Price:  $40.00 - 4 Week Class

Dancers Body Class! is a workout like no-other. Developed by a dancer for dancers, routines are designed to build strength, endurance, flexibility and build cardiovascular fitness.

The workout is built on some key areas of focus:

Cardiovascular Endurance - Building the bodies ability to achieve and maintain a high level of activity for a prolonged period of time with relative ease.
Building a Strong, Functional Core - This means more than a great abdomen (a natural by-product of the workout.) It means a strong base from which to create beautiful, controlled dance movements and a foundation of stability for posture.
Flexibility - creating better flexibility of the limbs. Ballroom dance lines require a great range-of-motion in the arms, shoulders, torso, hips and legs.
Actual Dance Patterns - Experienced and beginning dancers will pick up more than a few great dance steps in a fun way, while working out! Some of the styles in the workout may include: Salsa, Cha Cha, Bolero, Merengue, Rumba, Swing, Jive, and Samba.

Bring Tennis Shoes and a Mat or Towel To Class.

Fun, Fun, Fun! WOMEN OF ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVELS WELCOME!
